Description: Taking Care of Global Mobility Professionals

In this interactive discussion, we revealed the results of our recent global survey. The survey focused on Global Mobility (GM) and HR professionals (who manage GM work within their roles) to better understand areas of opportunity to transform their contributions, assess the effectiveness of the GM function within their organizations, and enhance the wellbeing of GM professionals.

Commissioned by Expatise Academy in response to feedback from their Global Mobility members, the research addressed increasingly challenging environments in supporting organizational mobility programs.

Why was this survey initiated by GM leaders?

Expatise Academy chairs a Platform Multinationals (Netherlands/Belgium) Global Mobility network members group, which commissioned this research.
Over the past two years, members reported a significant increase in cross-border remote work requests, which has added to GM’s workload complexity and volumes.
Alongside this, other pressures on GM have been growing compliance scrutiny, ongoing budget constraints, cost control, response speed, and demands for sustainable mobility and international talent/expatriate wellbeing.
These challenges are perceived as global, not exclusive to European GM professionals, and this research explores these perspectives with GM professionals worldwide.

Research team

To achieve this, Expatise Academy collaborated with Santa Fe and Crowe to co-develop a strategic, objective survey reflecting various industry and regional perspectives within the Global Mobility industry.

Uniquely, the research team included the Netherlands-based Expatise Academy (Ernst Steltenpöhl), Crowe’s Global Mobility Workforce Advisory practice (Dino Jangra, Partner and Global Chair), and John Rason (Santa Fe’s Consulting leader). Crowe, a global tax accounting and advisory organization operating in 150 countries, kindly hosted the survey.
