Description:
As the globalization of business continues, the number of geographically dispersed global teams has increased as well.
How can teams build trust, communicate effectively and drive performance when team members are in different locations and time zones? In this 3-part course, we explore some best practices and build concrete strategies for successful global teams.
In Part One, we define global teams and detail some of the benefits and challenges organizations may experience when their employees work in geographically dispersed teams.
In Part Two, we provide an overview of how culture can affect a global team and introduce another example of a geographically dispersed team. You will see how some of the dimensions of culture discussed in the Theory of Culture course can affect team interactions. We will demonstrate how cultural profile data is useful for facilitating success of geographically dispersed global teams.
In Part Three, we discuss the importance of using best practices for virtual communication to support geographically dispersed global teams.
Please note that this course revisits the cultural dimensions that were discussed in Part 2 of the Theory of Culture
