The traditional long-term expatriate assignment generally includes a suite of financial and logistical assistance that can be expensive. Cost management is always an imperative for talent mobility programs, and one alternative to the traditional assignment is localization. In Part 1 of this course, we discuss the process of localizing an existing expatriate assignee. In Part 2, we discuss how companies send employees on permanent moves and a variety of assignments using a local approach.
